Tobacco Free Arizona relies on a network of community partners to engage and serve communities throughout the state. From worksite wellness, certification and training, regulating access to tobacco products, and providing help to quit, we continue to work with groups committed to the health of Arizona. We can’t do this alone.
Arizona Smokers' Helpline
If you are ready to quit smoking or chewing tobacco, or just thinking about it, the Arizona Smokers’ Helpline (ASHLine) can help. Program services are free to all Arizonans - registration is not required. ASHLine offers professional, on-going support (available in both English and Spanish) to all tobacco users looking for help with quitting. Services include personalized quit plans, medication assistance, quit coaches, interactive Web programs, telephone counseling, and self-help materials.

Attorney General’s Enforcement Program
Created in 2001 through an Interagency Service Agreement between the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Department of Health Services Bureau of Tobacco and Chronic Disease, this program works to reduce youth access to tobacco products and facilitate the enforcement of Arizona’s youth tobacco statutes. Undercover inspections of tobacco retailers conducted by the program throughout the state help to monitor the rate at which Arizona retailers comply with state laws regulating the sale of tobacco to minors.

The purpose of the National Conference on Tobacco or Health (NCTOH) is to help improve and sustain the effectiveness and reach of tobacco control programs and activities in the United States. Whether your interests lie in prevention, cessation, or research; whether you are a student, program manager, or seasoned advocate; and whether you work at the local, state, or national level, the 2009 National Conference will have something for you.

In November of 2006 the citizens of Arizona made their voices heard by passing the Smoke-Free Arizona Act. This landmark statute prohibits smoking in most enclosed public places and places of employment. A high level of compliance has been achieved just a year after the Smoke-Free Arizona Act went into effect. Most employers responded well in creating smoke-free workplaces while the number of complaints declined significantly, resulting in cleaner air for Arizona residents.
